The Once Were Wild Travel ethos is to create a welcoming space for women, a space to step away from family politics, shed expectations, and simply breathe. And while our business name might be new, we are definitely not new to touring. Creating a touring company with the solo woman traveller at the forefront of our minds, was paramount, because we know that travelling as a single woman, especially a single mature woman, can come with a lot of unspoken anxieties. You want to explore, but not alone, still, you have concerns: Will I be safe? Will I fit in? Am I going to slow the group down, or is the group going to slow me down? We are here to put those worries to rest. When you travel with us, you are never a burden , and you are never alone . We deliberately keep our groups small, with a maximum of just 8 ladies, ensuring you are deeply cared for, listened to, and completely safe. And because the two of us personally guide every tour together, you get the ultimate peace of mind. Two guides mean total flexibility. You never have to worry about "keeping up" or missing out. A Lifetime On The Road For over 25 years, both together and separately, we've been guiding people across Australia and around the globe. Long before we had a website, we were natural facilitators of adventure. We’ve never been traditional tourists. Wherever we go, we connect deeply with locals. Because of that, we've built a trusted network of contacts and hidden-gem experiences worldwide.
