We are Adele and Barbara - friends, collaborators, travel buddies, and hosts. We believe the best travel doesn’t rush, perform, or overwhelm. Instead, it invites you in, slows you down, and leaves you deeply changed.
Once Were Wild Travel was born from our shared love of premium hospitality, outstanding food, fine wine, and wild open spaces. Based in the stunning hills of Maleny where we also welcome guests to our bespoke cottage accommodation, we bring decades of experience to every journey we design.
Our tours are thoughtfully crafted to balance gentle adventure, exceptional local produce, meaningful connection, and time to simply breathe. Every detail is considered, from the perfect wine paired with dinner to the quiet rest stops along the way. Barbara brings the spark - spontaneous, generous, and full of life. Adele brings the structure - a lifelong host and organiser who ensures everything flows with ease.
